Abstract : One of the most prevalent structural birth malformations is cleft lip and palate, which is a common congenital anomaly. Feeding, facial development, swallowing, speaking, as well as psychosocial issues that have an effect on the infant and parent, are just a few of the systems and functions that are impacted by its effects. Standard feeding methods could not provide the baby the right nourishment. If the problem is significant enough obturators for feeding will assist the baby get suction and will make it easier for the baby to eat properly. Also obturators can facilitate weight gain, and proper nourishment of the infant with the cleft lip and/or palate before having repair surgery. For this reason the purpose of this study was to give the reader, caregivers, and health centers concerned with the care of infants with cleft lip and palate the necessary information about the feeding obturators, indications of their use, types, and benefits.

Abstract : The blood supply to the lateral sinus walls and the sinus floor membrane is provided by maxillary artery through a branch named posterior superior alveolar artery (PSAA). [1] preoperative radiological evaluation to detect and locate the exact position of the artery to avoid traumatizing these arteries and subsequent perioperative bleeding, during any surgical intervention [2]. Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is appropriate for craniofacial area imaging. It shows precise images of well-contrasted structures; it is also suitable for bone imaging [3], [4]. In addition, the usage of the CBCT technique in the clinical application offers several impending benefits for “maxillofacial imaging including: X-ray beam restriction”, image precision, dose reduction and rapid scan time [5].

Study of the Additive Effect of Cranberry with Amoxicillin on Resistant Renal Passages Infection Owing To E. Coli

Abstract : Repeated renal passages infection unresponsive to traditional therapy became a serious medical problem, especially when E. coli microorganism is blamed. Amoxicillin is a cell wall biosynthesis retarder used as the first safest choice for treating E. coli-induced renal infection. Unfortunately, its use became limited due to the emergence of resistance. Cranberry is a natural product substance used widely in medicine, especially as a renal disinfectant agent. To demonstrate whether cranberry exhibit an additive effect to reduce resistance against amoxicillin in renal infection caused by E. coli or not. 153 females between 32-37 years old were selected randomly; they were confirmed to get UTI with E. coli by culturing method. They were divided into 2 groups; group 1(n=81) received amoxicillin only for 10 days, and group (2) involved the remainders who received amoxicillin with cranberry for 10 days. Both groups left 7 days after treatment without antibiotic therapy then another general urine test was done to calculate the rate of response to proposed drugs. It has been clarified that a true reduction in the number of resistant UTI when cranberry was used with amoxicillin as compared to amoxicillin- the only treated group is present. Using an herbal extracted substance, i.e., cranberry, has a very effective role in reducing resistance to the safely used antibiotic (amoxicillin) in repeated UTI.

The association between pulmonary tuberculosis and bronchial anthracosis

Abstract : Anthracosis is pneumoconiosis induced by frequent contact with smoke from biomass, air pollution, charcoal smoke, or dust particles. This study aimed to investigate the association between anthracosis and pulmonary tuberculosis. In this cross-sectional study, 401 patients undergoing bronchoscopy were recruited, and their demographic characteristics, clinical features, bronchoscopy and imaging results, pathologic-cytologic reports, and acid-fast bacilli (AFB) smear were recorded and analyzed. Bronchoscopic results of 220 patients (54.9%) were normal, 93 (23.2%) had anthracosis, and 32 patients (8%) had anthracofibrosis. Positive pulmonary tuberculosis was significantly higher in patients with anthracosis or anthracofibrosis compared to those without (17.6% vs. 4%) (OR=5.09, P<0.001). Patients with tuberculosis and anthracosis or anthracofibrosis had more prolonged contact with biomass (P=0.002). Logistic regression showed age (P=0.003) and the presence or absence of anthracosis or anthracofibrosis (P=0.006) as associated factors with pulmonary TB. Anthracosis is associated with other pulmonary diseases, including TB; therefore, in case anthracosis or anthracofibrosis is diagnosed, the coincidental pulmonary TB should also be evaluated.

Smartphone-Based Instrument (SBI) An Unswerving Retentive of CPR Skill and Knowledge

Abstract : Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a life-saving procedure that should be able to perform by everyone. It is the only critical rescue procedure that can be done during a sudden cardiac arrest event. There are various technology-based training methods designed to ensure the procedures are well grasped by the public, such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and smartphone-based training. Those efficacies of technology-based CPR training and content remain divisive, leading to CPR success far below expectations. This initial study is to explore effective operative ways of CPR training using a technology approach through a systematic review. The entire search of information was guided by keywords related to technology-based CPR training, ‘cardiopulmonary resuscitation’ OR ‘training’ OR ‘community CPR training’ OR ‘CPR’ OR ‘cardiac resuscitation’ OR ‘technology-based’ OR ‘virtual reality’ OR ‘smartphone.’ The protocol used based Systematic Reviews Protocols (PRISMA). Data synthesis was analyzed using the Microsoft Excel format. The thematic analysis showed three important points, 1) Smartphone-based as a CPR training instrument, 2) Effective content for CPR training 3). Technology-based CPR training uses a smartphone as a key instrument. Three important things to consider before conducting training in this era of high technology are the ‘Training Instrument’, Training Intervention, and Intervention Outcome. The training instrument should explain the instrument to be used as key technology-based CPR training. The training Intervention will focus on the dynamic contents of intervention processes, and the ‘Intervention Outcome’ will measure the success of the entire training based on the system invented. We cannot run away from the participation of advanced technology in our lives, including daily tasks and training that have been proven effective. The possibility of CPR training conducted through face-to-face may be one of the causes of the failure of the given training due to time, frequency, distance, staff selection, and unchanged program. This study will be conducted in the future and will give a positive sign.
