Traditional Postnatal Care's (TPC) Effects on Postpartum Mothers' Well-being in Malaysia: A Concept Paper
Journal ID : AMJ-03-10-2022-10587; Author : Patricia Sator, Nurazian Binti Marisen, Walton Wider,
Abstract : Postpartum care as it was traditionally practised, also known as traditional postnatal care (TPC), is one of the options open to mothers for the purpose of health maintenance and overall wellness, including both physical and mental health. There are many different kinds of TPC, and the approaches are decided upon either by those of a more senior generation, the friends of the mothers, or the mothers themselves. It appears that there has been very little research conducted on the effects of traditional postnatal care on postpartum mothers, and nurses have reported that they have found it challenging to share information about TPC with the local community, particularly in primary health care settings. In this study, an attempt is made to comprehend the existing research regarding the impact that TPC has on the health of postpartum mothers. Because one of the primary responsibilities of the nursing programme is to care for postnatal mothers, introducing or including TPC in the nursing curriculum may improve the nurses' knowledge.

Glaucoma in Saudi Arabia: A Challenging Public Health Concern
Journal ID : AMJ-03-10-2022-10586; Author : Muhammed Alluwimi,
Abstract : Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness, and has become a global public health concern. The global prevalence was estimated to be 3.54%. In this Narrative review, the aim was to summarize studies conducted to investigate the prevalence of glaucoma in Saudi Arabia. Published studies in KSA on glaucoma were reviewed. Search criteria were applied; studies conducted after the year of 2000 and included Saudi population. Any studies that focused on subtypes of glaucoma and their relations with other ocular conditions were excluded. There were three studies that estimated the prevalence of glaucoma in Saudi Arabia. The prevalence reported in these studies ranged from 5.4% to 5.8%. However, these studies were conducted in specific regions and did not represent the national prevalence of glaucoma in Saudi Arabia. The conclusion is that There is a high demand for accurate estimate for the national prevalence of glaucoma in Saudi Arabia. Accurate prevalence and epidemiology of glaucoma leads to constrain the challenges of glaucoma as a public health concern in Saudi Arabia.

A General Review on Carbon Nanotubes: Advantages, Disadvantages, Biomedical Applications and Analytical Techniques.
Journal ID : AMJ-01-10-2022-10584; Author : Lina S. Hussein, Hussein K. alkufi,
Abstract : Carbon nanotube (CNTs) is a tube consisting of carbon with a nanometer diameter. CNT like other nanomaterials have several advantages and disadvantages. Due to their inherent properties: small size, large surface area, chemical stability, biocompatibility, excellent electrical and thermal conductivity and flexibility. CNTs attracted a considerable interest in nanotechnology, medication, and industrialization. They could be used as a targeted drug delivery system, as a diagnostic tool and also in tissue engineering. In general there are many techniques like TGA, SEM, TEM, AFM, NMR and IR might be used for the evaluation purpose of purity, dispersion, physical and functional properties of CNTs.

Molecular significance of microRNA 125a-5b and its relationship with thyroglobulin antibodies in Hashimoto's thyroiditis
Journal ID : AMJ-30-09-2022-10583; Author : Satae Y. Mohammed, Haidar J. Muhammed,
Abstract : Recent studies showed that microRNA has post-transcriptional effects and is considered an important cause of autoimmune diseases. MiRNA is one of the most important associated with Hashimoto's autoimmune disease, in which T cells proliferate and cause the production of thyroglobulin antibodies that damage the thyroid gland and affect its function. This study aimed to find the relationship between miRNA 125a-5p in Hashimoto's thyroiditis and thyroglobulin antibody production. In which 125 patients were diagnosed. The ratio of males to females was 20-80%, aged between 16-78 years. These samples were collected from the Specialized Center for Endocrinology and Diabetes/Al-Rusafah-Baghdad/ Iraqi Ministry of Health. Hashimoto's patients were diagnosed using clinical, ultrasound methods and serological tests. The serum used for detection (Anti Tg-Abs) was separated and Hashimoto's patients were diagnosed using ELASI technology. The blood of the microRNA 125A-5p set of 40 samples was accounted for by quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). The results showed a decrease in miRNA-125a-5p expression compared with (10) healthy individuals. The study showed high levels of (Anti Tg-Abs) test with statistically significant differences (P≤0.01) compared to healthy subjects.

Effect of phenolic extract of Avena sativa seeds on sperm parameters and reproductive organs of male albino mice
Journal ID : AMJ-28-09-2022-10580; Author : Reyam Ammar Yassir, Nada Saad Naji AL-Taee,
Abstract : This study was conducted to investigate the effect of phenolic extract of oats seeds on parameters of sperm and reproductive organs of white male mice. Forty (40) male mice were divided equally into four groups: the first group served as a control group (DW), the rest of the groups received concentrations of (10, 20, 40 mg/kg b.wt.) of phenolic extract daily for 40 days. The results showed a significant increase (P<0.05) in sperm motility, sperm concentration and sperm viability. As for the percentage of abnormal sperms in the caudal epididymis, it decreased significantly (P<0.05) in male mice dosed with phenol extract concentrations. The current results also indicated that there were significant differences (P<0.05) in weight of testes, epididymis, and animal body weight compared to the control group. Hence we can use the seeds of the oat plant in the current study to improve the fertility of animals, including humans because of their antioxidants.
