Evaluation of Remineralization Potential of NovaMin on Artificially Demineralized Human Enamel: An In vitro Study

Abstract : This study aimed to evaluate the remineralization potential of sodium monofluorophosphate (NovaMin®) compared to a commonly used standard toothpaste (Signal®). Thirteen enamel blocks of primary canines were divided randomly into two groups: Group 1 (n = 15; Experimental), NovaMin® toothpaste group, and Group 2: (n = 15; Control), Signal® toothpaste. The samples were initially evaluated for baseline surface microhardness; later on, these samples were placed in the demineralizing solution for

Impact of Bariatric Surgery on Testosterone and Estradiol Levels in Syrian Obese Men

Abstract : Infertility is a growing health problem around the world, and the reasons for its increasing rates in recent years are still poorly understood. Obesity is currently one of the biggest global health challenges due to its rapid spread and its association with many chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Studies have also shown that obesity is associated with sexual dysfunction in both sexes. Several studies suggested the positive impact of bariatric surgery on testoste

Smoking as a risk factor for Depression and Anxiety Disorder: A Systematic Review

Abstract : Smoking and depression continue to be contentious topics. Smoking is mostly a psychological issue in terms of its causes. Depression is the most prevalent condition that affects the entire body and manifests as physical, emotional, and cognitive symptoms in primary healthcare facilities. PubMed, Web of Science, Science Direct, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar were thoroughly searched for relevant data. The

Epidemiological Profile of Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) Patients in Hail Region, Saudi Arabia

Abstract : Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is a rare genetic disorder that affects the skin. Although rare, it is associated with huge disabilities and limitations for the patients. Literature on the epidemiology of EB is scarce in the Middle East and Saudi Arabia. We aimed to compile the epidemiological characteristics of EB among patients admitted to a dermatology center in Hail, Saudi Arabia. This was a cross-sectional study conducted between January 2022 and January 2023 at Rahma center, Hail, Saudi Arabia.

Three-Dimensional Evaluation of the Trueness of Digital Impressions for Full Edentulous Jaws: A Clinical study

Abstract : Intraoral scanning for fully edentulous patients is a debated topic due to potential inaccuracies and difficulties in imaging soft tissues. Despite the introduction of various techniques for capturing impressions of edentulous jaws, their accuracy and reproducibility are still under scrutiny. The main limitations in this field include the inability to create digital functional impressions and a relatively low level of accuracy. This study aims to assess the accuracy of a digital impression techn

Positive and Negative Consequences of Bariatric Surgery in Saudi Arabia: A Systematic review

Abstract : Obesity is seen as a chronic condition that may be managed by changing one's lifestyle, using medication, or having weight loss surgery. In Saudi Arabia, there has been a substantial increase in the number of people getting bariatric surgery. Although the benefits and drawbacks of surgery are well documented, it is still unknown if weight loss following surgery will last. Our goal was to evaluate the results of bariatric surgery. Shear Bond Strength Of Ceramic Brackets Bonded To A Different Surface-Treated Ceramic

Abstract : This research aims to evaluate the shear bond strength (SBS) of the ceramic orthodontic brackets Adhered to a ceramic surface (IPS E-Max Zirpress), after treating the ceramic surfaces in multiple ways, and then studying the amount of the remaining adhesive using the adhesive remnant index (ARI). The research sample consisted of 45 ceramic surfaces (IPS E-Max Zirpress) divided into three groups, which were treated using different methods, Etching using hydrofluoric acid (HFA) 10% and a combinatio

Comparative Laboratory Study on the Efficacy of Chloramine T vs. Chlorhexidine Plus in Treating Root Canals Infected with Enterococcus Bacteria

Abstract : Endodontic treatment success hinges on the effective elimination of bacteria from the root canal system. Bacterial persistence, primarily due to inadequate chemo mechanical preparation or suboptimal filling, is a leading cause of treatment failure. Enterococcus faecalis, a bacterium resistant to many irrigation solutions, has been identified as a primary culprit. Mechanical preparations alone fail to eradicate such bacteria, necessitating the use of effective chemical agents. While Sodium Hypoch
