Quercetin Flavonoid Represses Gastric Ulcerations in Wistar Rats, Accelerates Motility in Co-administrations with Vitamin C

Abstract : Existing reports are speculative on the gastro-protective actions of quercetin (QCT) flavonoid and its potency in ulcer healing as employed in modern ethno-medicine. Forty five (45) matured female wistar rats (150-200g) were acclimatized for 2 weeks, fed standard rat chow ad libitum, and assigned into 9 groups of 5 rats each. With group 1 being control, groups 3 – 9 (experimental) were fed varying doses of QCT after inducing gastrotoxicity (ulcer) with indomethacin. Whilst group 2 animals form

Severe pruritus, dizziness, headache, and myalgia following rosuvastatin and sildenafil combination: A case report

Abstract : Rosuvastatin is a lipid-lowering drug; it is more potent than atorvastatin and simvastatin among both Caucasian and East Asian patients with dyslipidemias [2]. However, the drug is not free from side effects, especially when combined with other medications or specific food. The side effects ranged from mild itching, dizziness, and oral ulcers to hepatitis and fatal rhabdomyolysis. We presented an a60-year old male with type 2 diabetes and dyslipidemia for 18 years, his medications were metformin

Evaluating the Antibacterial Effect of Hanse Dent Endomix Against Enterococcus Faecalis: An in Vitro Study

Abstract : This study aimed to evaluate the antibacterial activity of Hanse Dent Endomix against Enterococcus faecalis (E. faecalis) in comparison to other medicaments (Ledermix, and Metapaste) using the agar disk diffusion method. The study sample consisted of 12 filter paper disks that were randomly distributed into four equal groups: group 1 (Experminteal, n=3) Hanse Dent Endomix, group 2 (Experminteal, n=3) Ledermix, group 3 (positive control, n=3) Metapaste, and group 4 (negative control, n=3) sterile

Evaluation of the effectiveness of electronic educational course about special care dentistry for undergraduate dental students.

Abstract : E-learning is increasingly implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic. This wide implementation caused the need to investigate e-learning effectiveness. Therefore, this study was undertaken to investigate the effectiveness of electronic educational course about Special Care Dentistry (SCD) in improving the learning of undergraduate dental students. And measure participants’ perceptions towards the course. About 13 undergraduate dental students (n=13) were accepted to participate in the education

Evaluation of temporomandibular joint disorders in patients with psoriasis: a clinical and an epidemiological study

Abstract : Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease, mainly affecting the skin, nails, scalp, mucous membranes and joints. Psoriatic arthritis occurs between the distal phalanges of the fingers as well as the toes, joints of the knees, elbows, shoulders, spine and temporomandibular joint. To investigate the prevalence of TMJ disorders in patients with psoriasis. The sample consisted of 300 patients with psoriasis who attended the Dermatology and Venereal Diseases Hospital at Damascus University, who wer

Correlation between Reperfusion Time and Left Ventricular End-Diastolic Pressure in Acute Myocardial Infarction Patients with St-Segment Elevation Undergoing Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

Abstract : ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is a transmural infarction caused by a total occlusion in the coronary flow where mechanical reperfusion therapy with primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is initially recommended. The STEMI can decrease left ventricular compliance, resulting in diastolic dysfunction, which can cause an increase in left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP) in the early stages. Prolonged reperfusion time has been associated with increased LVEDP,

Development of Mental Workload Measurement in Nursing Students During Clinical Learning Experiences

Abstract : Nursing education is a process of theoretical knowledge and practical techniques needed by nursing students. Students who do not have previous practical experience are at risk of experiencing a mental workload, which can impact achievement, health, mental/emotional, social aspects, communication, and quality of life. This study aims to develop mental measurement workload in nursing students during clinical learning. Use mixed methods to combine or associate qualitative and quantitative data in 2

Synthesis and Characterization of Cross-Linked Hydrogel CS/AA-AM-CA for Enhanced Azure A Dye Adsorption and Thermal Stability

Abstract : This work created a new cross-linked hydrogel, Chitosan/Pol(acrylic acid-acryl amid-crotonic acid) (CS/(PAA-AM-CA)), using free radical polymerization. KPS catalysed the free radical reaction initiated by chitosan. A solution of acrylic acid (AA), acrylamide (AM), crotonic acid (CA), and N,N-Methylene-Bisacrylamide (MBA) was then added. FTIR and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy were used to characterise the hydrogel (FESEM). These methods were used before and after adsorbing Azure A d

Evaluating Maxillary Bone Density by (CBCT) as a Tool in Implant Prognosis in Kurdish Population

Abstract : The objective of this study was to evaluate the quantitative bone density of the maxilla using Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) of Kurdish population in Sulaimani city and Comparing between bone density in the anterior, premolar, and molar areas also in relation to sex and age. A total of 140 CBCT of Kurdish population of both sexes with age range (20-80 years). At each implant site, the bone density has been assessed twice. A mean value has been taken to assign for that region in edentulous

Analysis of the Gut Microbiota in Obese Adolescent Subjects Fed Black Rice Extract (Oryza Sativa L)

Abstract : Obesity is an accumulation of abnormal or excessive fat that poses a risk to health. According to Asia pacific criteria, obesity in adults is defined as BMI ≥25. The gut microbiota has recently been put forward as an environmental factor responsible for weight gain and energy metabolism disorders that cause obesity. Polyphenols such as anthocyanins found in black rice (Oryza sativa L) are expected to play a role in the homeostatic gut microbiota in suppressing obesity and other metabolic disea
