Abstract :
Mental health is a state of well-being for everyone to realize their potential. The media quartet is one of the tools used to receive stimulus for behavior change. This study aims to determine the effect of the local language quartet media on the mental health of adolescents with introverted and extroverted behavior at SMPN 2 Duapitue District, Sidrap Regency. The method in this research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. The sampling technique used is a simple random sampling technique. Samples from the treatment group were 75 people and 45 people from the control group. The results showed that the mean value of the media influence of the local language quartet on the mental health of adolescents in extrovert personality (p = 0.000), and there was a comparison of the effectiveness of the treatment group with the control group of (p = 0.004). The intervention in the treatment group was more effective than the intervention in the control group. It was concluded that the local language quartet media was more effective in increasing adolescents' knowledge in the process of changing behavior for the better due to the cultural and environmental factors of the language used daily, making it easier to interact. It is suggested that the school improve the quality of character education for students through learning planning strategies using media to see their activeness from the impact of media on adolescent mental health in their social environment. their activeness from the impact of media on adolescent mental health in their social environment.
