Abstract : Smoking and depression continue to be contentious topics. Smoking is mostly a psychological issue in terms of its causes. Depression is the most prevalent condition that affects the entire body and manifests as physical, emotional, and cognitive symptoms in primary healthcare facilities. This investigation explores the relationship between smoking and despair and anxiety. PubMed, Web of Science, Science Direct, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar were thoroughly searched for relevant data. The Rayyan QRCI was used during the entire meticulous process. Our study article included 12 studies, in which the association between smoking and depression/anxiety was explained. The main parameters like age, sex, percentage of smokers and associated disorders were obtained. The clinical studies were required to determine the outcomes related to smoking and depression/anxiety. Smoking and depressive disorders are linked in the general population. Research must be done to determine why smoking and depressive symptoms are related, not to assist people stop smoking and thereby increase the prevalence of smoking.
