Abstract : Caries is one of the oral diseases that is often experienced by children around the world by 60%-90%, especially in low socioeconomic groups. The causes of caries are multifactorial, including socioeconomic level, age, gender, diet and oral hygiene. Sucrose or sugar commonly consumed is an important factor causing caries. Elementary school children are an age group that is very vulnerable to caries because they have poor behavior in maintaining oral and dental health. Aim: Knowing the effect of healthy teeth application and healthy dental gymnastics with teacher assistance on teeth cleaning behavior in children aged 10-13 years. Method: The study was conducted in September 2022 - March 2023 at Makassar City Elementary School, South Sulawesi. The number of samples were students of SD Hang Tuah 64 people, SDN Ujung Tanah 54 people and SDN Cambaya 49 people. The research group consisted of 3 (three), namely SD Hang Tuah with a combination intervention of healthy dental application and healthy dental gymnastics, SDN Ujung Tanah with healthy tooth application, SDN Cambaya healthy dental gymnastics. The three research groups intervened for 3 (three) with teacher assistance. There are two stages in this study, namely stage 1 of making healthy dental applications with qualitative methods followed by stage 2, namely educational model intervention with quasi-experimental methods with the design of the non randomized pretest postest control group design. Results: In the knowledge aspect, there was a significant increase in SD Hang Tuah (p = 0.021), SDN Ujung Tanah (p = 0.000) and SDN Cambaya (p = 0.015). In the attitude aspect, there was a significant increase in SD Hang Tuah (p = 0.039), SDN Ujung Tanah (p = 0.001) and SDN Cambaya (p = 0.000). In the Action aspect, there was a significant increase in SD Cambaya (p = 0.043) while SDN Hang Tuah (p = 0.177) and SDN Ujung Tanah (p = 0.249) experienced a significant increase but there was an increase in the mean value. Conclusion: The effect of healthy teeth application and healthy dental gymnastics with teacher assistance has an effect on increasing knowledge, attitudes and actions in maintaining oral health of children aged 10-13 years.
