Abstract :
The quality of life of children with epilepsy can be disrupted due to unresolved seizures and psychological disorders. One of the instruments for assessing the quality of life of children with epilepsy is the Quality of Life in childhood epilepsy questionnaire-parent form (QOLCE-55). This study analyzes factors related to the quality of life in children with epilepsy. A total of 80 children were analyzed. Based on the qolce-55 measurement of cognitive function, there were four significant independent variables, namely age (p<0.001), duration of treatment (p=0.021), parents' education (p=0.001), and seizures (p=0.007). Cognitive function obtained two significant independent variables, namely gender (p=0.001) and attacks (p<0.001). Social function is obtained by one significant independent variable, namely age. In terms of physical function, there were two significant independent variables, namely age (p<0.001) and the number of anti-epileptics (p=0.001). Age, gender, parental education, nutritional status, type of epilepsy, duration of treatment, type of treatment, seizures, and regularity of taking medication are factors associated with the quality of life of children with epilepsy.
