A comparison of magnetic resonance imaging and cone beam computerized tomography in the evaluation of temporomandibular joint changes in rheumatoid arthritis patients

Abstract : This study aimed to determine the features of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) involvement in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients and comparing the diagnostic efficacy of cone-beam computerized tomography (CBCT) to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in identifying changes of TMJs. This case-control study was performed on 40 RA patients with ten healthy adults (control cases). CBCT and MRI examination were done for participants. Independent and paired t-tests and correlation coefficient tests were used

Assessment of Blood Count Abnormalities in Relation to Clinical outcome of Intracerebral Hemorrhage

Abstract : Spontaneous non-traumatic intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) constitutes about 10–15% of all strokes and has a high mortality of approximately 40% at 1 month. Identifying the factors associated with mortality may improve survival rate and avert patients many complications. To evaluate the routine blood count finding in ICH patient, in relation to with clinical outcome. This is a case series prospective study included 60 patients who presented with diagnosis of ICH. Clinical data, and laboratory in

FILARIASIS CONTROL MODEL BASED ON ECOLOGICAL IN JAMBI PROVINCE

Abstract : Filariasis is a chronic infectious disease caused by filaria worms that attack the ducts and lymph nodes that cause disability and social stigma in society. More than 120 million inhabitants in 83 countries around the world have been infected with Filariasis, mainly in the tropics and some subtropical regions. The purpose of this study was to obtain a model of controlling Filariasis Based on Ecological Conditions in Jambi Province. This research uses a study based on Condition echronology, With

Evaluation of the effect of adding fentanyl to Valsalva maneuver in reducing pain caused by propofol administration

Abstract : It is a widely used anesthetic drug for induction and short-term anesthesia, one of the side effects of this drug is pain during injection. This pain is caused by the connection of the phenol ring to the nerve endings in the endothelium of the veins, which causes discomfort for patients. This issue has led to the selection of different materials and methods to reduce pain during propofol injection. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of adding fentanyl to Valsalva maneuver in reduci

THE EFFECT OF IRISIN ON COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT, BMI AND LIPIDS PROFILE IN IRAQI WOMEN PRACTICING SPORTS

Abstract : A novel myokine called irisin is produced in humans after exercise. The present study aimed to determine the effect of irisin values on the levels of BMI, CBC, leptin, and lipid profiles. Between November 2021 and February 2022, 100 Iraqi women aged 18-38 were divided into two groups: those who practicing sports and those who did not. Venous blood was collected and transferred into EDTA tubes and Gel Activator tubes. The current study found a highly significant increase in irisin (p≤0.01) in w

The Relationship between Severe Stage Chronic Kidney Disease and Iron Deficiency Anemia in Children

Abstract : Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a serious health problem in children with increasing prevalence and mortality rate. One of the most common complications in CKD is anaemia. When the kidneys fail to function, erythropoietin (EPO) production decreases significantly and reduces red blood cells production in the bone marrow. There have been no studies looking for a link between severe CKD and iron deficiency anaemia in Indonesia. This study assessed the relationship between severe stage CKD and the p

Isolation, Identification, Screening, and Optimization of Endophytic Mold Fusarium sp in Red Dahlia (Dahlia sp.L) Tubers as Inulinase Producer

Abstract : Inulinase is an enzyme that converts inulin to fructose. This enzyme can be isolated from the endophytic mold of red dahlia tubers (Dahlia sp.L). The most critical steps to producing large-scale inulinase enzymes are to separate endophytic molds, then identify the type of mold and assess the best activity of the inulinase enzyme based on temperature and PH. The method is to isolate endophytic molds, make crude enzymes with Potato Dextrose Broth (PDB) media and fermentation culture, test the opti

Cord Blood Albumin Correlation As a Predictor Of Neonatal Hyperbilirubinemia In Healthy Neonates

Abstract : Neonatal jaundice is a common clinical problem during the neonatal period, especially in the first week of life. Healthy infants can develop idiopathic neonatal jaundice with prevalence of 60% - 80%. The liver is the site of albumin synthesis which binds unconjugated bilirubin from the breakdown of erythrocytes and helps in transport to the liver. Low albumin production will reduce the transport and binding capacity. To determine the relationship between umbilical cord blood albumin levels and t

Impact of COVID-19 Infection on Malignant Patients and Suspect Malignancy care in Dr. Kariadi General Hospital

Abstract : The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted changes in hospital health services at Dr Kariadi in patients with malignancy and suspected malignancy both in the diagnostic process, surgery and in routine procedures such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy and palliative. This change was influenced by government policies such as lockdowns, patient fear of transmission of COVID-19, and limitations on facilities, infrastructure, and medical personnel. The duration of the delay in health services impacts patient out

SELF-EFFICACY, BENEFIT, CUES TO ACTION AS THE MAIN DETERMINANTS OF COVID-19 PREVENTION BEHAVIOR: META ANALYSIS OF CROSS-SECTIONAL STUDY

Abstract : The fact that Covid-19 virus will not vanish completely requires people to have healthy behavior to control and prevent the spread (Covid-19 Preventive Behavior CPB). This is a systematic review and meta-analysis study that aims at providing a more reliable summary with a high level of evidence to estimate the scale of the effect of each component or perception of the HBM theory on Covid-19 prevention behavior. Articles were searched through databases from January – November 2022. The sources
