Role of Plantago major on biochemical and reproductive hormons in experimental induced PCOS in female rats

Abstract : About 4-8% of women of reproductive age suffer from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), also known as Stein-Leventhal syndrome, a diverse endocrine condition. Research the impact of Plantago major leaves extract on the induced polycystic ovarian syndrome in rats, assess the impact of Plantago major leaves extract on biochemical markers (Adiponectin and serum blood glucose), and examine the impact of Plantago major leaves extract on hormones (FSH, LH, testosterone, and estrogen), and contrast the i

A case series of Mucormycosis during Covid-19 Pandemic in a tertiary care hospital

Abstract : Rhino-orbital Mucormycosis is an opportunistic fungal infection affecting mainly diabetic and other immunocompromised patients. Covid-19 infection has augmented the risk of mucormycosis cases due to use of steroids or due to immunosuppressed condition because of infection itself. In the present study four cases with rhino-orbital mucormycosis have been presented. They were etiologically diagnosed as Mucorales by KOH mount and fungal culture. Though diabetes and other immunosuppressed condition a

Indices of Renal impairment in patients with Atrial Fibrillation

Abstract : Atrial fibrillation is the commonest type of arrhythmias with significant mortality and morbidities. There is a correlation between AF and renal impairment and this correlation is complex and may be a manifestation of cardiorenal syndrome, a bidirectional complication of these diseases or its treatment or both coexist in same disease. To evaluate frequency of renal indices abnormality among patients with atrial fibrillation. By using cross sectional descriptive study, randomly selected 52 atrial

Functional Capacity Changes After Cardiac Rehabilitation Program as A Quality of Life Predictor in Left Ventricular Dysfunction Patients Who Underwent Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting

Abstract : For Patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) accompanied by decreased left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) was the preferred management and superior to pharmacological therapy alone. Health assessment related to the quality of life in patients with CAD and post-CABG is important and intended for evaluating the acquisition of the therapeutic target. Based on the guidelines, treatments of CAD should be accompanied by lifestyle modification and cardia

Detection of Extended-spectrum β-lactamases Genes in the Zoonotic Brucella abortus

Abstract : Brucellosis is a frequent infectious zoonosis over the world, intimidating both veterinary and human public health. The misuse and overuse of antibiotics in Iraq in the veterinary field is associated with the high rate of antibiotic resistance that observed in some zoonotic bacteria directing to cause serious infections in human. The point of this study; is to determine the occurrence of extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBLs) -producing Brucella abortus in the blood of cattle. One hundred blo
